The laboratory works on study of thermodynamic characteristics of solid inorganic compounds in wide range of temperatures:
- Experimental study of thermodynamic characteristics in 20-1600K range using high precision calorimetric methods.
- Phase change study: determination of appropriate thermodynamic characteristics and reasons of transformations.
- Determination of correlation between microscopic characteristics (crystal and magnetic structure, ion parameters) and macroscopic (magnetic and thermodynamic) characteristics.
- Development of empirical and semi empirical methods for determination of thermodynamic characteristics.
The following methods are represented to perform complex calorimetric studies:
- Low temperature adiabatic vacuum calorimeter (20-320K)
- High temperature (298-1300K) adiabatic mixing calorimeter.
- Differential scanning calorimeter DSC-III (300-900K).
- High temperature differential scanning calorimeter HT 1500 (300-1500K)
- Calvet-type calorimeter (300-900K)
- Thermoanalyzers: Derivatograph Q-1500D NETZCH STA 2500.
