Currently, the main scientific areas of research in the Laboratory are the following:

1. Complex study of charge transfer and energy transfer processes in non-regular nano- and mesoscopic systems and working out of scientific fundamentals for corresponding technologies: regular condensed systems under thermal, optical and radiative impact, with consideration of spatial and frequency effects;

• Photocatalysis with participation of meso- and nanoparticles;
• Creation of mathematical algorithms and their testing on the basis of already determined quantitative results, system processing of experimental data;
• Development of scientific fundamentalsfor hydrogen productionfrom water using solar energy, by chemical reactions with use of nano- and mesoscopic particles;
• Obtaining of new special Thermostable coatings (partnership program with Livermore National Laboratory, USA)
• Obtaining of galvanic coatings with multifunction properties from water solutions on various materials.

2. Chemistry of combustions process, fire extinguish and fireproof composition materials.

13 researchers are working now in the Laboratory, among them 4 main researchers, 4 senior researchers, 3 researchers, 2 engineers.
