Several directions related to conversion of chemical energy sources are being developed in the lab:
Development of technologies of production of electrolytic manganese dioxide (EMD) and other important products from manganese containing ores (supervisor: Dr. T.Chakhunashvili).
Development of promising cathode materials for the most powerful chemical energy sources – Lithium-ion batteries (supervisor; Dr. E.Kachibaia).
Production of powder EMD and other metal powders by electrochemical method and development of electrochemical capacitors (supervisor: Dr. G.Tsagareli).
Exploitation of new generation carbon materials as electrodes for the process of synthesis of manganese dioxide and as a conductive additive in manganese-zinc chemical energy sources (supervisor: Dr. Zh.Kebadze).
Development of technologies of purification of waste waters containing non-ferrous metals and extractions of precious components (supervisor: Dr. R.Dundua).
Electrolytic purification of Industrial and mining waters from copper ions by using carbon materials (supervisor: Dr. Ts.Gagnidze).
